THE PRODUCTION

By creating Character, I wanted to offer a wardrobe with few pieces per collection to be able to focus on the essential: quality. It starts with choosing a clothing workshop on site in Paris and promoting Made in France. Keeping an eye on the progress of each product is essential to avoid manufacturing errors and therefore to have losses of raw material.

Communication with artisans is favored thanks to this proximity because they can respond more quickly to my requests and I can also adapt to their pace of work.

THE SUPPLIERS

Reusing the ends of the fabric rolls from luxury houses allows me to have access to high quality materials at more accessible prices. For more specific materials I go for vintage stocks. They age well over time.

At Character you will mainly find noble and durable materials, the use of synthetic materials is minimized. 

The collection plan is based on the quantity of rolls selected, which is why a model will have several fabric references. Recycling the ends of rolls/stock makes it possible to produce approximately 2 to 3 pieces per size, i.e. less than 15 pieces per model and per reference.

For haberdashery such as spools of thread, iron-on patches, and all the accessories used for each garment, they are chosen to measure, one by one, to the exact needs of the collection. 

From these choices, we end up with very exclusive collections.

THE CONCEPT

​

What fascinates me in this way of working is to create collections from what we find (scrap of fabric, limited quantity, unique piece...) Adapting one's creations according to already existing raw materials sometimes turn out to be a puzzle, but the result is always more surprising than if I had designed a piece with all the tools at hand. This allows to have unique and orignal pieces, customizable and adapted to each one. 

As a result, the collections take longer to come out because the searches are more complex.

Two collections per year: Spring-Summer, Fall-Winter.

Starting this Summer, the pieces from each collection will be released one after the other throughout the season, so stay tuned !
